Shadow of terror hangs over Euro 2016 as tournament opens

The Euro 2016 football tournament kicks off on Friday in France with 90,000 policemen and other security forces deployed nationwide. The first match, France vs Romania, will be held at the Stade de France that was targeted in the November 2015 terrorist attack on the capital. The state of emergency declared by France following the deadly assault in which 130 people were killed was extended to cover the tournament.
