Shamkhani says scientist killed by “electronic equipment”

“Unfortunately the operation was very complicated and done with electronic devices and  no [perpetrators] were at the scene,”  Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, told reporters during the burial ceremony for top scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh on Monday. Iran’s Press TV claimed a weapon recovered at the scene of the killing bore “the logo and specifications of Israel’s military industry.” Its Arabic broadcaster said the weaponry was “controlled by satellite.”

On Sunday, the semi-official Fars news website said a remote-operated machine gun that fired the lethal bullets was mounted on am unmanned Nissan pick-up truck that later exploded. All these Iranian outlets cited unnamed sources with no substantial evidence for their claims.

Supreme ruler Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s representative at the burial ceremony ruled out the path of negotiations and dialogue, ”Because our enemies are against the very nature of the Islamic Republic of Iran and will never stop.”
