Shin Beit foils Hamas bomb plot destined for Jerusalem
A Hamas cell operating in Hebron was discovered in recent weeks in possession of a large bomb that was prepared at a secret lab for a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. It was loaded with iron fragments to maximize casualties. The plot was uncovered in the course of Shin Bet, IDF and police investigations of a number of terrorist cells set up in Judea and Samaria under the orders of the Hamas military arm in the Gaza Strip. They were instructed to prepare bombing, kidnapping, shooting and stabbing attacks, buy weapons and recruit operatives.
