Shin Bet chief: 400 arrests prevented hundreds of terror attacks

“The past year proved that we have learned to deal with solo terrorism with the help of advanced intelligence technology,” Shin Bet Director Nadav Argaman reported Monday in a briefing to the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Security Committee. Security forces arrested more than 400 suspects before they launched terrorist attacks. This has resulted in comparative, albeit illusory, peace in the country. Hamas and the Islamic State are tireless in their efforts to stage attacks inside Israel. Argaman reported that terrorist organizations, especially Hamas, were preparing their cells to mount attacks in the days before the Passover Festival next month.
