Silicon Valley heavy hitters meet with Trump to discuss tech issues
Some of the biggest names in the US high-tech industry met with US President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday at Trump Tower in New York. They included Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Google CEO Larry Page, Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, and the chairmen and presidents of companies such as Cisco, Intel, Oracle and Tesla. The participants discussed ways of increasing information security for both the country and individual citizens; helping intelligence services curb terror online, especially on social networks; using employment to boost exports; and tax issues amid increased public pressure on tech companies that have avoided paying taxes. Vice President-elect Mike Pence and close advisors of Trump also attended the meeting.
