Israeli air strikes across Syria, countered by Syrian anti-air fire

Israeli air strikes are reported in Syria mid-morning Saturday, including the Damascus region, countered by Syrian anti-air systems. Warning sirens were triggered in the Golan and across Galilee up to Nahariya. These events follow a major cross-border incident, which began early Saturday with an Iranian drone intrusion of Israeli air space and its interception by an Apache helicopter and recovery intact. An Israeli air strike followed against the Iranian drone launch pad near Palmyra deep inside Syria and the downing of an IAF F-16 by Syrian anti-air fire. The plane came down over northern Israel after the two pilots ejected safely.
