Six injured when vehicle struck French soldiers in Paris suburb

First report: A vehicle struck a group of soldiers in the Levallois-Perret suburb of Paris Wednesday. Six of them were injured, two seriously. Police have launched a big operation to catch the BMW and its driver who are still at large. The Mayor of Levallois-Perret, Patrick Balkany, said he saw the incident and had no doubt it was a deliberate attack. The soldiers were on a routine patrol as part of Operation Sentinelle, launched after the Charlie Hebdo attack in January 2015, to protect civilians from terror attacks. The soldiers were attacked by a speeding BMW while leaving their barracks. A police spokesman said the vehicle appeared to clearly target the troops, but the motive for the attack remained unclear.
