Six mortar shells fall in Saudi Arabia near Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders
The Saudi Press Agency said the six mortar shells, which landed in an uninhabited desert area near the al-Auja border guard center of Hafr al-Batin in the Eastern Province, caused no damage. It is located on the far northwestern fringes of the kingdom’s oil producing region and hundreds of km from its largest oil fields.
The border guard media spokesman Gen. Mohammed al-Ghamdi said he had been in contact with border guards of “neighboring countries” to take necessary measures to determine the source of the mortar fire and prevent its recurrence.
