Six Syrians arrested in Germany for plotting ISIS Christmas bombing

Six alleged ISIS followers were arrested in the towns of Kassel, Hannover, Essen and Leipzig Monday, suspected of plotting a coordinated weapons and explosives attack on a Christmas market in Essen. More than 500 police officers took part in the raids. The six suspects were identified as Syrian citizens aged between 20 and 28 who arrived in Germany as asylum seekers between December 2014 and September 2015. Germany remains on high alert since the truck attack on a Berlin market in 2016. Concrete blocks have been installed around Christmas markets.
