Small number of Saudi-led ground troops enter Aden

A “limited” number of Saudi-led ground troops deployed in Yemen’s second city Aden on Sunday to support loyalist militia fighting rebels – and another force is on the way, a government official and a militia commander said. This is the first reported ground deployment by the coalition, which has been conducting an air war in support of exiled President Abd Rabo Hadi. The few dozen ground troops, mostly Saudis and Emiratis of Yemeni origin, will focus on evicting rebel Houthis from Aden international airport.
