Some of Ofek 11 spy satellite’s technical issues apparently resolved
Following the first activation of the payload of Israel's Ofek 11 spy satellite on Thursday afternoon and the first transmission of high-resolution imagery from space to mission control in Israel, it appears that some of the technical problems that surfaced at the beginning of its mission have been solved. The payload includes a camera that can capture images at a very high resolution. It is still not clear whether all of the systems are operating properly. The satellite was launched September 13 from the Palmachim air force base using a "Shavit" rocket.
