Spurt in coronavirus deaths to 26 – 6 in one day 

Israel’s coronavirus death toll stood at 26 Wednesday night after 6 fatalities in one day. The number of infected cases rose to 5,591  – then to 6,092 – with 97 in serious condition. At the same time the number of critical patients on ventilators remained stable at 76. The Health Ministry refuted the proposal to reopen schools after the Passover holiday and warned it was too soon to start charting an exit strategy from the covid-19 restrictions to revive the economy
