Stolen truck crashed Berlin market crowd, killing 12, injuring 48
The truck which crashed into a Christmas Market Monday night, killing 12 people and injuring 48, was driven by a Pakistani refugee who stole the vehicle after first murdering the Polish driver. Carrying a heavy load of iron and Polish license plates, it was driven at the speed of 60 kph without lights into the throng in the compound of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church. The driver, who arrived in Germany from Pakistan last February, was arrested for questioning by the German security service. German officials confirmed “signs of an attack” but refused to use the term terror.
