Sudan nixes Pompeo’s request to normalize ties with Israel

After US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met Sudanese PM Andallah Hamdok in Khartoum on Tuesday, Information Minister Faisal Mohamed Salih explained:: “The transitional government in Sudan has no mandate to decide on relations with Israel,” as per the secretary’s request. Salih also revealed the PM Hamdok had urged the American visitor not to link the normalization issue with the delisting of Sudan from the US terror list, which Khartoum is anxious to achieve.
