Syria claims Israel air strikes over Aleppo
The Syrian news agency claims that missiles fired by Israeli warplanes on Thursday night targeted sites around the northern city of Aleppo . As usual, “Syrian air defenses intercepted most of them.” Other sources cited the targets as an Iranian Revolutionary Guards missile factory at al-Safirah southeast of Aleppo. Opposition sources referred to “a military airport and Syrian military “scientific facilities.” There were no immediate reports of casualties. This was the third attack over Syria attributed this month to Israel. Last week, opposition sources reported an Israeli air raid over the strategic T4 air base near Homs, killing Iranian-backed militiamen. Two days earlier, 11 militiamen and Syrian troops were reported killed in another putative Israeli air strike on the outskirts of Damascus.
