Syrian army driven back from Jordanian border
The Syrian army was forced to pull back from positions on the Jordanian border when Saturday, US warplanes made low passes over one of its convoys , firing flares and bombing empty areas, DEBKAfile reports. US Special Operation Forces and the US-backed Free Syrian Army then fired mortars and missiles. Three hours later, the Syrian forces withdrew from the positions they had taken up 55km south of the US-base al-Tanf base near the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian border.
