Syrian Army pushes rebels out of Damascus and Aleppo
DEBKAfile: By their first use of heavy artillery for the fiercest barrage seen yet in Syria’s civil war, government forces were able Sunday to push rebels out of most of the neighborhoods they seized in the past week in Damascus and Aleppo, Syria’s largest towns. Government TV and radio are running frequent bulletins claiming that Syrian TV’s most popular anchor Muhammed Said was kidnapped by the rebels and will be forced to plant fake announcements of the Assad regime’s fall. Listeners are advised to ignore these broadcasts.
