Syrian, Iranian defense ministers discuss stronger ties

The Syrian and Iranian defense ministers, Gen. Fahad Jassim al-Freij and Hossein Dehghan said in a joint statement issued after their meeting in Tehran Tuesday that they had decided to “strengthen coordination and cooperation between their two armies – especially in the face of terrorism and the common challenges in the region.” Freij arrived in Tehran at the head of a large Syrian military delegation.
