Syrian Kurds training in Iraqi Kurdistan

The Iraqi Kurdish Republic president Masoud Barzani says there are between 10,000 and 15,000 Syrian Kurdish refugees in his semi-autonomous KRG, some being trained in self-defense and the preservation of their region from succumbing to the Syrian civil war. In an interview with French L’Essentiel des Relations Internationals, Barzani did not reply directly when asked whether he would be in favor of reunification of the Kurdish entity in Syria with the autonomous Kurdish region in Iraq to form a self-ruling Greater Kurdistan running from the Mediterranean to the Iranian border.
