Syrian media claim Israeli missile attack near Hama

An unidentified location near the western town of Hama was said by Damascus to have been struck by Israeli missiles early Friday. They were described as having been fired from the direction of the Lebanese town of Tripoli and downed by Syrian air defenses. No casualties were cited. A month ago, Israel was accused of attacking four Iranian-run weapons production plants at Masyaf in the same area. After hundreds of attacks on Iranian and pro-Iranian targets in Syria attributed to Israel, this one was the first to be launched after the Biden administration took office on Wednesday.
