Syrian reinforcements contest ISIS Palmyra incursion

Homs Governor Talal Barazi said Sunday that Syrian troops had recaptured two hills from ISIS which Saturday drove into the northern district of historic heritage town of Palmyra (Tadmor). As fierce fighting continued, the Syrian army sent in reinforcements and shored up fortifications. DEBKAfile: The Islamists are targeting from Palmyra the Syrian army’s big air base and one of its largest arms depots.
