Syrian war foes meet in same Geneva room for 30 minutes
Government and opposition delegations met for the first time at the Geneva Conference Saturday, facing each other for 30 minutes as UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi outlined the agenda. The entered the room through separate doors and left after setting another date to meet in the afternoon to discuss a short ceasefire to allow humanitarian aid to enter rebel-held areas of Homs, possibly Damascus. The oppositionw atns transitional government but the Assad regime refuses to step down.
