Syrian war’s one-million child victims

UN agencies report that half of the 2 million refugees from Syria are children – three quarters of them under the age of eleven. Anthony Lake of UNICEF said these children are “ripped from home, maybe even from a family, facing horrors we only begin to comprehend.” Even after they cross a border to safety, they are “traumatized, depressed and in need of a reason for hope.” They have not only lost their homes and family members but also their futures.
