Syria’s Eid truce capsizes under shelling, shooting and car bombs

The four-day festival truce mediated by UN mediator Lakhdar Brahimi lasted only until Friday midday. Shelling, shooting and two car bombings erupted in Aleppo province, Deir El-Zour, Daraa and Damascus suburbs with dozens of fatalities, running over into Saturday. The nine-month conflict has claimed at least 35,000 lives.
