Tehran strongly denies plans to withdraw from Syria

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council vehemently denied rumors that ISNSC chairman Ali Shamkhani, a close associate of the supreme leader, had sought the  country’s withdrawal from Syria. He was quoted as saying on Thursday: “The right thing to do is for us to leave Syria, as it would be to the benefit of Iran and the Syrian people.”
