Ten missing from US destroyer- merchant ship collision off Singapore

A Navy guided-missile destroyer, the USS John S. McCain, collided with a commercial vessel east of the Straits of Malacca Monday morning, when the McCain was on its way to Singapore, the US Navy said. There are 10 sailors missing and five injured. A search and rescue mission was underway. The ship is named for Senator John McCain’s father and grandfather.
