Terrorist killed in firefight with Israeli forces

Gunfire on an elite Israeli police force in Betunya outside Ramallah developed into a two-hour firefight in which the shooter who was barricaded in a house was shot dead early Monday. He was wanted for plotting a terrorist attack against Israelis. Two guns were found in his home, an M-16 and a Carl Gustav submachine gun. Two Palestinians were injured in the ensuing disturbance. No Israeli casualties.
