Terrorists holding Nairobi mall threaten to kill all hostages
The operation to neutralize the terrorists holding Nairobi’s Westgate mall was far from over Monday, according to DEBKAfile’s sources, although Kenyan security officials promised it would end Sunday night. The Kenyan military, backed by American and Israeli special forces, has only just managed to reach the barricaded area where an estimated 10-15 gunmen are holding an unknown number of hostages, whom they now threaten to kill if the operation continues. The terrorists turn out to have prepared for a long siege well in advance by setting in stocks of materials for barricades and quantities of ammunition, explosives, food and water.
