The Aleppo ceasefire has crashed. Pro-government forces bombarding rebels
The ceasefire supposed to have ended the warfare in the shattered Syrian city of Aleppo before dawn Wednesday has crashed, 12 hours after it was announced. Pro-Assad militias are pounding the eastern districts held by Syrian rebels with tanks, artillery and mortars, say humanitarian and opposition organizations. However, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday morning that he expects the situation in Aleppo to improve and “the rebels to cease resistance in the next two to three days.”
