The cabinet earmarks NIS 35m for security upgrade in Ashkelon
The government approved Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s plan to earmark NIS 35 million (app $10m) in Ashkelon, a town regularly targeted by Palestinian rockets from Gaza, for a program of improved security and assistance. The plan, approved at the regular Sunday cabinet meeting, calls for an immediate overhaul of dozens of public shelters, expanded support for children as well as installing smart systems and special emergency equipment.
