The death of an Israeli youth in a West Bank police chase investigated
Ahuvia Sandak, 16, from Gush Etzion, was killed during a police chase after a vehicle carrying youths who were suspected of throwing stones at passing Palestinian cars in the central West Bank. Called on to halt, they continued to flee. Sandak was killed and four other teen age passengers were injured when the fleeing vehicle overturned near the Michmash junction. The injured youths were detained and driven to hospital. On Tuesday, some 200 protesters tried to storm Jerusalem police HQ, accusing the police pursuit car of bumping their vehicle, causing the death of Sandak who was trapped under the car when it ran off the road. The unit for investigating police conduct has launched a probe into the incident.
