The decline in serious coronavirus cases in Israel stays steady

Another 16 cases raised the total to 16,579, 3,519 of whom had active symptoms, 59 were serious, 49 were on ventilators and the death toll inched up to 265.  Although beaches were allowed by the Health Ministry to open as of Wednesday, they were packed in the last two days by people escaping from a heat wave above 40 degrees Celsius.
