The Dow closes on record high

The Down Jones industrial average soared 25.95 points – or 0.9% – to 14.253.77 Tuesday, the highest mark in the more than five years of global financial crisis. The Dow’s previous highest close was 14,164.53 on Oct. 9, 2007, after which the US plunged into its worst economic recession since the Great Depression.
