The EU rejects Trump plan over Israel annexations

European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell on Tuesday rejected the Trump peace plan, claiming it “falls far short of minimal Palestinian demands and would leave sizable chunks of the occupied West Bank in Israeli hands.” The US initiative, he said, “departs from internationally agreed parameters.” The European position remains that the unresolved final status issues of borders, Jerusalem, security and refuges must be decided through direct negotiations between both parties. The EU remains committed to a two-state solution, based along the 1967 lines, with the possibility of mutually agreed land-swaps.
