The EU tightens sanctions on Iran

EU foreign ministers approved in Luxembourg Monday extra curbs on trade with Iran in a bid to persuade Iran to permit international scrutiny of its nuclear program and head off potential military action. The sanctions cover Iran’s finance, energy and transport industries and freeze the assets of 34 Iranian entities to block revenues for funding its nuclear program.
