The first consignment of 110,000 vaccine shots due on Thursday
Israel expects the first consignment of covid vaccines to arrive on Thursday – 110 shots from Pfizer. The health authorities say that the first vaccinations will take place amid a partial lockdown for curbing the rising level of the pandemic. Medical and health care workers will be the first recipients.
Ben Gurion airport has made special arrangements for the vaccines which require a temperature of minus 70 degrees. A United Airlines Boing 777 has been especially fitted with freezer compartments to accommodate the consignment. More deliveries are awaited next week.
