The gunman who assassinated Russian ambassador was Turkish cop

The gunman, identified as Mevlüt Mert Altıntaş screamed 'We die in Aleppo, you die here' before opening fire and fatally injuring Ambassador Andrei Karlov. Altintas was a 22 years-old member of the Turkish special forces in Ankara, who entered the gallery with police identification and was later said to have been “neutralized.”. The Turkish government has imposed a blackout on the investigation. The Kremlin said Russian President Vladimir Putin was holding an emergency meeting.
