The IDF destroys new Hamas terror tunnels in northern Gaza

The reconstructed two-branched Hamas tunnel the IDF has destroyed led up to the N. Gaza-Israel but was blocked from penetrating Israel by the deep, sensor-studded steel barrier Israel had previously sunk. The military spokesman disclosed on Monday that part of the tunnel had been blown up during the 2021 Gaza war, but Hamas had since repaired and rebuilt the two branches that started from Gaza City and pointed into Israel. It was stopped from penetrating the international border by the Israel’s underground reinforced concrete-steel wall and the new border fence. After several weeks of work, the Yahalom engineering unit completed the demolition of the new Hamas tunnels in the last 48 hours.
