The Kremlin: US should show proof of Putin corruption claim

Moscow Tuesday challenged the US to provide proof of a Treasury official’s claim in a BBC interview that Vladimir Putin was a “picture of corruption.” The claim was made by Adam Szubin, acting under-secretary for terrorism and financial intelligence at the US Treasury. “This would just be another example of typical irresponsible journalism if it weren’t for the comment by a US Treasury official,” Putin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told journalists. “This is an official accusation,: he said, “and it requires proof.
