The main Russian carrier to Sharm el Sheikh will avoid Sinai

Ural Airlines has adjusted its flight routes to Sharm el-Sheikh to circumvent the Sinai Peninsula in accordance with the instructions of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation," the company’s spokesman said Monday. The company flies holidaymakers to the Red Sea resort from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Perm. This was the first indication of a European instruction of this kind. Russian and Egyptian authorities continue to play down the terrorism factor. 

The second Russian Emergencies Ministry plane carrying the remains of those who died in the Airbus A321 crash takes off from Cairo to St. Petersburg Monday evening. According to the city’s Deputy Governor Igor Albin, a total of 140 bodies of the 224 victims have been brought to the city which is in deep mourning. He has confirmed that 25 children died in the passenger plane crash Saturday.
