The New York Times “apologizes” for its US election campaign reporting
Arthur O. Sulzberger Jr., publisher of The New York Times, penned a letter to readers Friday promising that the paper would “reflect” on its coverage of this year’s election while rededicating itself to reporting on “America and the world” honestly. President elect Donald Trump repeatedly accused the NYT and other US mainstream media of dishonestly covering the election campaign and showing heavy bias towards his rival, Hillary Clinton. She was presented as the certain winner and Trump as a dangerous menace.
The NYT was moved to “reflect” on its shaky performance by having to face up to Trump for the next four years and being proved wrong about its favorite choice for president.
