The president’s wife is in stable condition after lung transplant
Mrs. Nechama Rivlin, 73, underwent a single lung transplant at Beilinson Hospital on Monday. According to a statement from the President’s office, her condition is stable: She is “sedated and will stay on a respirator until she can breath unassisted.” Mrs. Rivlin has suffered from pulmonary fibrosis for some years and was on a waiting list for a transplant donor. The transplanted lung came from 19-year old Yehezkiel Halbali, 19, from Ramat Gan, who died in a diving accident in Eilat two days ago.
