“This is an emergency,” Netanyahu warns ministers
PM Binyamin Netanyahu opened the Sunday cabinet meeting by stressing that the rising coronavirus figures have created an emergency. “We can longer wait for Knesset legislation. We have to move fast to hold back the spread of the virus.” Netanyahu was referring to the new restrictions on gatherings approved by the coronavirus ministerial panel last week which awaits Knesset approval at midday Sunday before going into effect on Monday. The new restrictions limit gatherings at functions, bars and restaurants to 50 people and indoor meetings to 20.
