Three El Al planes head to Peru to pick up stranded Israelis

Hundreds of Israeli travelers stranded in South American countries are waiting in Lima, Peru for three El Al planes which took off from Ben-Gurion Wednesday for the 17-hour flight to bring them home. Some hurriedly exited countries, like Bolivia and Brazil, before their borders were shut down against the spread of coronavirus. The operation was managed by foreign minister Yisrael Katz in cooperation with his regional counterparts.
