Three Iranian security personnel killed by protesters west of Tehran

Assailants wielding knives and machetes ambushed and killed a Revolutionary Guards officer and two members of the Basij militia late Monday. Demonstrations are sweeping Iran’s cities since Friday when the regime declared a massive price hike on petrol. Deaths have risen to five, including two protesters, and hundreds have been arrested.

The scale of the unrest is hard to gauge since Iran has shut down the internet.
