Israel’s health ministry confirms that three of the 15 Israelis aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship docked opposite Japan have come down with the COVID19 coronavirus. They were removed to hospital in Japan. An Israeli doctor is to join the local staff treating them. Another 70 cases aboard the ship were reported Sunday, raising to 355 the total number of passengers and crew who have succumbed to the virus among the total of 3,500 people quarantined since Feb. 5. Israel has asked Japan to allow the Israelis to be taken off the ship and flown to Israel for another two of isolation, so far with no result. The US plans to evacuate on Sunday the approximately 350 uninfected passengers aboard the vessel, flying them home by chartered flights to a further two weeks in quarantine.
