The IDF released the names of the three soldiers killed in the Gaza Strip Wednesday. They are: 1st Sgt. Matan Gottlieb, 21, from Rishon Lezion, 1st Sgt. Omer Hai, 21, from Savion and 1st Sgt, Guy Algranati, 20, from Tel Aviv.
Upon entering a house in Khan Younes Wednesday, where a tunnel shaft had been discovered, the Israeli force triggered an explosive charge planted in an outer wall near the doorway. It killed the three soldiers and injured three others. They were evacuated under enemy fire. In other clashes with Hamas in the Gaza Strip during the day, 24 more soldiers were injured. All of them are in hospital in Israel. The Palestinbians reported closes to 100 deaths. OC Southern Command Sammi Torjeman told reporters Tuesday night, Israeli forces entered new areas in the central and southern Gaza Strip and seriously impaired Hamas strength. Four more uncharted tunnels were discovered. He reckoned that the tons of cement invested in Hamas’ terror tunnels could have been used to build two hospitals, 20 schools or 100 kindergartens.
