Three missing British teenage girls believed traveling to Syria
London police have appealed for help to find three schoolgirls from East London believed to be traveling to Turkey with the intention of crossing the border into Syria and joining the Islamic State terrorist group. The appeal has gone out to Turkish media in the hope of stopping the girls who flew out of Gatwick early Tuesday Feb. 17 before they cross. They are Shamima Begum, 15, who could be using the name Acklina Begum, and 16-year-old Kadiza Sultana. The third girl, 15, is not being named at the request of her family, Scotland Yard said.
