To calm his supporters, Assad has his cousin arrested

The official Syrian news agency reports that Sleiman al-Assad, the president’s cousin once removed, was arrested to face investigation and further legal proceedings over his murder of a high military officer in the Assad clan’s heartland town of Latakia in northwest Syria. Angry local demonstrators threatened to keep up protests until Sleiman Assad was punished.
