Troops, bomb squad rush to college in Manchester
A large number of British troops and police rushed to a college in the Hulme area of south Manchester on Thursday afternoon due to a bomb scare. The college was evacuated and all of the roads leading to the area were cordoned off. A bomb disposal unit also arrived on the scene. Police said it was too early to say whether the incident was linked to the Manchester bombing investigation. They later announced that a suspicious package had been deemed safe.
